An elderly gentleman at my old church recommended this Bible to me several years ago. He thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. I had forgotten about it until I saw the Bible listed in a catalog recently. I did some research and found out this Bible is full of false teachings. The notes in this Bible are full of heresy, illogic and, at worse, bigotry and racism. To being with, Dake has a 14 dispensation scheme with lengthy descriptions of a pre-Adamite world ruled by Lucifer. Creation is known as "re-creation" and is explained by a rather lengthy gap theory (see notes on Genesis chapter 1, and the chart at the rear of the Dake), including "Lucifer's flood." My review comes in 2 parts. First I'll deal with the Dake itself, and then the two versions, the Standard and the Compact, and which I'd recommend.
For Pentecostal, Spirit-filled, Charismatic, and Word of Faith believers, I could never recommend a more useful study Bible. It's chock-full of not only the basic teachings of Spirit-filled living (i.e., the baptism in the Holy Spirit, faith in God for healing, deliverance, and prosperity) but I'm sure you'll find thousands of insights you've never ...
